Welcome to Babylon!
Babylon was once the biggest, richest and most powerful city-state in ancient Mesopotamia. The city was founded 4000 years ago as a small port town on the Euphrates river, but grew greatly under the rule of Hammurabi. Several centuries later, a neo-Babylonian empire was established that spanned from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean sea. It was during this period that Babylon is most well-known for, with lavish buildings and the famous hanging gardens, and it is this period that my website it based in.
Nowadays, Babylon is simply a ruin in Iraq, so I created this website based around this amazing ancient city as an interesting experience. I have also included some of my own interests scattered around the site. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy and please leave a message in my guestbook!
